The LUDA project is promoting the exchange of experiences and the transfer of knowledge between European cities. Six cities Bratislava, Dresden, Edinburgh, Florence, Lisbon and Valenciennes are taking part in the LUDA Research Project. A group of 12 Reference Cities: Antwerp, Dublin, Essen, Genoa, Graz, Lyon, Malmö, Manchester, Ostrava, Tallinn, Trnava and Xanthi with experience in dealing with distressed areas and regeneration processes, was established in order to create a broad collection of case studies and encourage the exchange of experiences.

The information about the project for the interested parties is provided by the project newsletter and the possibility to take part in public conferences: on the 16 th-17 th September 2005 in Paris "Governance and Management of Sustainable Urban Rehabilitation of l arge urban distressed areas" and the project end- conference on 9 th-10 th December 2005 in Dresden.

The LUDA network is intended to facilitate the flow and exchange of information, data, ideas, and demands between the project partners, the Reference Cities and interested parties.
